Caregiving found me early in my career, and I never left. From years in long-term and memory care to hospice bedsides, there is no work I find more meaningful than helping someone stay comfortable, at home, and surrounded by the people they love.
My story
For over a decade I've worked in hospice, long-term care, and end-of-life care — in family homes, care facilities, and alongside hospice agency teams. Much of that time has been spent with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, and it shaped how I care for everyone: patiently, on their terms, meeting each person wherever today finds them. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, my role is the hands-on part of care: personal care, comfort measures, watchful observation, and a steady presence for the whole family.
Families often tell me the hardest part isn't the medical side — their doctors and nurses handle that. It's the long days and nights, the lifting and turning, the bathing, the not knowing what's normal, the exhaustion. That's exactly where I come in.

Honesty about my role
I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant — not a registered nurse. I don't administer medications, perform medical assessments, or provide skilled nursing. What I do provide is expert hands-on comfort care, and eleven years of knowing when something has changed and your hospice nurse should hear about it. The families I serve keep their hospice agency; I make everything between nurse visits gentler.
