Sonora is the centre of everything here — the county seat, where the appointments are, and where most of my work is based.
Because it is the hub, Sonora is where scheduling is most flexible. Short visits are practical, several a week is easy to arrange, and adding a day when someone has had a bad week does not require reorganising everything around it.
It is also where most medical appointments happen, for people across all three counties. Getting someone to and from an appointment — and being the person who actually remembers what was said in the room — is one of the more useful things I do here.
Sonora housing runs from old town houses with steep stairs to single-storey places on the outskirts. Whether a house still works for the person living in it is a question worth asking early, before a fall answers it.
